Pic-Nic #1, 2 and 3

The veritable, valiant, vibrant, occasionally venomous (and other words that start with V) (well, except for that one!) Vegetable Assassin turned me on (*wink wink*) to a trend that’s permeating Blogdom as we speak.

It’s called Project 365.

What is it you ask ohhh soooo suspiciously? Well, pretty much it’s this cult where you forgo the usual culty shenanigans of virgin sacrifices, drinking blood, donning tattoos and/or dark marks, paying for everything with nickels, and owning Leonard Nimoy records (*shudder*) in favor of this: promising to take at least one picture each and every day for a full year and post them on your blog. Simple as that.

The fantastic, fantabulous, fiery, never feeble (and other words that start with F) (well, except for that one!) Fancy Schmancy has joined too, so clearly this is one badass cult! It is soooooo the cult for me! (Sorry, Tom Cruise. Maybe next year, hon.)

Unlike Veggie and Fancy, I’m waaayyyyy too goddamn lazy busy to start up a second blog to devote to Project 365 (lord knows I can hardly keep up with one blog and facebook! Pfffft!) so I’m just going to post my pictures here in batches once a week. Or whenever I feel like it.

(Shut up, it still counts – I’ll still be taking a picture every day, but I’ll be posting some of them a little late, that’s all. I’m still a good cult member, really, I am!!)

So, here we go:

DAY 1 (July 15, 2009) ~

Daisies are my favorite flower and right now I’m fortunate enough to have a big ole harvest of daisies in my backyard….

One of the things I definitely remember from those photography classes I used to take is that the best pictures often come from seeing things in an unusual way (think Dead Poet’s Society when Robin Williams had all the boys stand on the desk just to get a different view of things) so, these pictures were taken while I was laying in the grass, looking up at the flowers and the bright blue sky….

This next one has skipped happily through the photo editing playground. I like how it looks so much more like a painting rather than a photograph….

DAY 2 (July 16, 2009) ~

My niece, who will turn two tomorrow. (*shudder*) Happy Birthday, Kiddo!!

DAY 3 (July 17, 2009) ~

Blueberries are my favorite fruit. Mmmmmm….

I love your pics Cora! Thanks for the idea of taking flower pics from the point of view of the grass. I'm going to have to try that with some of my flowers soon :)

fantastic! I love the perspective of the daisies from below! See... I learn something new from you all the time!

I like the thought of posting a photo a day... maybe I could join your cult. I might still have to wait til these pesky kids are back in school though. Man, they really cramp my style! ;)

wow, I love those flowers! Brilliant!

I am afraid I will not be joining you on this escapade, since I joined the Lets-write-fan-fiction-and-make-all-your-favorite-characters-gay-and-totally-incomprehensible- cult. And it is quite a time whore. Well, that and my job, which is the biggest time whore ever. Kind of like a time slut, or something.

I love the flowers pictures!

This 365 thing sounds like a LOT of fun. But I'm so anal that the thing keeping me from starting it is that I can't think of a date significant enough to represent the starting point unless I wait til January 1.

Yes, it's hard being me :)

George and I share the same birthday?! Now I can stop telling people that Richard Simmons is a birthday buddy. Woo Hoo!

Love ALL the pics! I'd join your 365 club, except I don't get out much and I'm sure my collection of state/country decals would get read old, real fast.
