Hoppin’ down the bunny trail….

Aaaaaaaand now for another update on this year’s Project 365….

Day 95 (2012-04-04) ~ I went around the neighborhood taking pictures of tulips. I especially loved this pink and white one which looked so delicate. But then during processing, I threw an infrared filter onto it just to see what would happen and my jaw hit the floor. That little delicate flower suddenly looked so powerful and weapon-like! One bad_ss flower!

Day 96 (2012-04-05)
~ I've done quite a lot of spring floral photos lately, but it would be a shame not to while the blossoms are still around, right? Just to shake things up, I put a painting filter on this one which I think makes it look really cool.

Day 97 (2012-04-06)
~ More blossoms. Oy. I know, I know.

Day 98 (2012-04-07)
~ Okay, so, this is me, Wednesday and Scope on Easter morning. Duh. This is kind of a cheater picture because I took it on the 8th, not the 7th. However, I cheated for a good reason! You see, the picture I was going to post from the 7th, which was a GORGEOUS painting my kiddo is working on, she asked me not to post because she's not done with it yet. I don't ever want to step on her artsy toes, so I promised I wouldn't post it online. (No word yet on what she will say if she finds out I posted a picture of her in bunny ears though.... *wink*)

Day 99 (2012-04-08)
~ After our Easter extravaganza (which was sooOOooOOoo much fun!), Scope, Wednesday and I went for a long walk along the North Shore Channel Trail in Chicago. All along the trail there are quirky statues, figures and works of art. Between all of that AND the Easter party, I ended up taking over 200 photos that day and I have had a REALLY hard time narrowing it down to just one picture to post! *whimper* So, let’s just go with this one.

Day 100 (2012-04-09)
~ I have been slacking on my workouts lately (A LOT) and I am.... umm.... dissatisfied with how my summery clothes are fitting. Or NOT fitting, as the case may be. *sniffle* So, enough is enough. I am getting back in the game for real now, starting with my beloved iPod, which has been uploaded with a slew of new songs to keep me entertained while strut around, shrinking my derriere!

I can’t believe we are already at Day 100, can you?! Dang. We are about 27% of the way through the project so far. More on the way soon, swearsies!

Comic TRIP!

Aaaaaaaand now for another update on this year’s Project 365….

Day 89 (2012-03-29) ~ Every spring in Seattle, the trees come alive…. What?—No, no, not the blossoms, silly! I'm talking about the bees! In Seattle, where I lived most of my life, the trees BUZZ like electric fences in the spring because there are so many bees. I live in Chicago now. This is my second spring here, and while I was all up close and personal with the flowering trees at the park, it suddenly dawned on me.... where are all the bees?!?! The park was utterly silent. No buzzing bees at all. Weird. I never noticed that before. I mean, I know there have to be bees around here somewhere, because we grew a slew of strawberries last summer.... but I never saw a single bee visiting the plants. The bees here must be sneaky!

Day 90 (2012-03-30)
~ The 5th in my 80's Strawberry Shortcake Doll series. Raspberry Tart.

Day 91 (2012-03-31)
~ Scope, Wednesday, and I took a trip out of town last weekend. Since Wednesday will be learning to drive soon, she sat up front with Scope so he could give her some driving tips on the way. I sat in the backseat the whole four hour drive with Fernando Von Bakonstein to keep me company. It's silly, I know, but of all the pictures I took that day, this one is my favorite! :-P

Day 92 (2012-04-01)
~ While out of town last weekend, Wednesday and I went into a cute little shop with Scope’s mom where I saw this lamp (of sorts) which I thought was gorgeous. A glass jar with illuminated cherry blossoms and pussy willows! So beautiful! Unfortunately, the price tag was NOT beautiful at all. It was ugly, ugly, UGLY! So, I settled for a picture of the lamp instead. :-)

Day 93 (2012-04-02)
~ Comic TRIP! Just an experiment going on here featuring some comic book pages and my camera set on BULB. I swiveled the camera across the scattered pages during the exposure just to see what sort of effects I could get. This was my favorite one.

For the curious: those pages aren't from a real comic book, but actually props that were used in a 2008 American Idol “Tainted Love” Ford commercial featuring David Cook, Jason Castro, etc. The pages are AWESOME. I have several of them, and have the two best of the bunch framed in my hallway. Pretty cool, huh?! Here’s the Ford commercial which features these comics….

Day 94 (2012-04-03)
~ Scope saw this car from the train on his way home from work and came running home to tell me about it. We got in our car and went back to find it, take pictures, and giggle. The car seems to be advertising a tattoo shop. Not to be mean, but there's NO WAY that I would get a tattoo from someone who wields a paintbrush like THIS!! Wow.

And, there! I’m about 25% of the way through the project so far. More on the way soon!

A picture a day keeps the doctor away. (I wish!)

Aaaaaaaand now for another update on this year’s Project 365. Because of recent events, I am WAAAAYYYYYYYY behind schedule on posting these. I’m going to try to catch up today, so hold on. Here we go!

Day 74 (2012-03-14) ~ It’s not easy being…. well…. you know….

Day 75 (2012-03-15) ~ It was St Patrick’s Day this week, so I painted a shamrock (well, kinda!) with a flashlight in the dark.

Day 76 (2012-03-16) ~ Hey, I like crude humor too, alright? But not enough to go writing it on a door! Some graffiti just baffles me. ????

Day 77 (2012-03-17) ~ We went downtown to watch the Chicago River dyed green in honor of St Patrick's Day. It's a big, BIG deal around here and thousands upon thousands of green clad people line the river banks watching the dye being poured into the water and then mixed in by a speed boat zooming through it. It was an unusually warm day with bright, blinding sunshine and temperatures at about 80 degrees. Unlike last year when everyone was bundled up in their winter coats, this year everyone was in shorts, tank tops and flip-flops! AWESOME!!!! As the river was in the process of being colored, I was busy snapping pictures of the boat zipping by when I noticed how cool and swirly the water looked in the glare of the summery sun and I quickly shot a picture of it.

Day 78 (2012-03-18) ~ The bangles.

Day 79 (2012-03-19) ~ *sigh* I would love to tell you the story behind this picture, but the censors (as I told you about yesterday) won’t let me. You’ll just have to invent your own description of this one. Sorry.

Day 80 (2012-03-20) ~ My poor, poor kiddo came down with the flu. We spent the morning at the doctor's office and then I spent all the rest of the day hovering over her on the couch, trying to bring her fever down. *sad sigh*

Day 81 (2012-03-21) ~ All of a sudden--*BOOM!*--Spring has sprung. There are blossoms everywhere and the air is fragrant, sweet and delicious. *le sigh*

Day 82 (2012-03-22) ~ A shortcake in the making. We have had temps in the 80's and suddenly my strawberry plants started to come back to life. Yay!

Day 83 (2012-03-23) ~ I forgot to eat before we got to the movie theater.... so my stomach was growling all through The Hunger Games! :-( The kiddo had only just started recovering from the flu and was feeling very shaky, but she tolerated my taking her picture anyway. Because she’s AWESOME!!

Day 84 (2012-03-24) ~ A mini storm was a-brewin’ while I was up on my rooftop trying to get a picture of the sunset.

Day 85 (2012-03-25) ~ One way or another, I’m gonna find ya, I’m gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha…. I dunno, it just kind of sums up the week in a way, right?

Day 86 (2012-03-26) ~ Twiggy!

Day 87 (2012-03-27) ~ She’s a brick…. house! Only had time for a quickie picture this day. I shot it while waiting for my kiddo by a wall.

Day 88 (2012-03-28) ~ Tulip Sniper!! The tulips are out in full force now.

And, there! Now we’re caught up. *whew!* I’m about 24% of the way through the project so far. More on the way soon!

207-224/365

And now for an update on my attempt at Project 365!

Day 207 (February 10)

Pfffft! If Carrot Top mated with a fish, I guess this is what you’d get….

Day 214 (Feb. 17)

Spring has sprung. The cherry trees across from my house were suddenly covered in pink buds and an opened flower or two….

Day 215 (Feb. 18)

It seems Seattle has bypassed Winter and Spring entirely. It was nearly 70 degrees today and people were outside in shorts and flip-flops IN FEBRUARY!….

Day 216 (Feb. 19)

On the other hand, it was clearly still Winter as far as the eye could see in Illinois. *shiver*….

Day 217 (Feb. 20)

I know I already showed you this chandelier the other day, but I love the pictures sooooooooooo much, so I’m showing you again. Just humor me. It’s easier that way….

Day 219 (Feb. 22)

More cherry blossoms on the trees across my street….

Day 220 (Feb. 23)

The sunrise as seen through my kitchen window….

Day 223 (Feb. 26)

Ohhhhh, the joy of a paper crown when you’re turning six!!….

Day 224 (Feb. 27)

Mini golf anyone?….

I got a hole in one, baby! Yeeeeeaaaaah!….
